We recently purchased 40 acres and are interested in any information you can give us on making a water garden. We have a run off from a pond that runs through our property which runs dry about half the year. How can we seal it off (after the rainy season when it runs quite high) so that we can keep a water garden all year round. We would like to put goldfish(?) and other water garden features. Your comments or the comments of your readers would be greatly appreciated. Joe and Kim Reeves - Kansas City, MO

I own and operate a nursery in La Pine, Oregon. Many of the plants you mention are hardy enough for our harsh climate. Your web site is one of the best. Keep up the great work. I use your site to change my wallpaper when I need an extra lift for the day!!
