Morristown- the northern limits of the 1000 Islands.
Downriver at American Island you'll find good muskie and walleye fishing at the shoals and deep water just upriver from the island. The area has good smallmouth bass, perch, and northern pike populations and every small bay has possibilities. While in Morristown check out the windmill. It is the only such structure in the area on the American side of the St. Lawrence River. The park surrounding the windmill is a favorite location to watch the Fireworks during Morristown's 4th of July celebration. A State Park with camping, sandy swimming beach and campers dock on a sheltered bay is nearby. 251 Old Mills Rd.- three miles off Route 12 Morristown 98 sites open mid-May through Columbus Day weekend
