A better name would be 'Icicle' Fungus in my opinion.
Stone Valley, Colton, NY. - Sept 16, 2008 Growing on hardwoods, most often on dead wood but occassionally on living trees. Reportedly this mushroom only grows east of the Great Plains. Edible: Fresh still growing specimens are best used. Older ones develop a bitter aftertaste. (remove slugs)
