Nestcap Mushroom

Nestcap grows on both deciduous and coniferous dead wood. Cap and gills are orange colored and the cap is 'hairy'. Most common from the Great Lakes eastward but it's range covers North America.

Mock Oyster Mushroom

NON EDIBLE: not poisonous but bad tasting.
An unpleasant odor is reported when growing on hardwood. I noticed no smell with this group growing on an old Hemlock
